Facts about mold in your home.

Why is mold growing in my house?

Mold spores are everywhere and get tracked into the house on clothes, shoes, open windows, and pets. There is no way of keeping mold out or your home.

Mold grows on any organic material. Its purpose is to help decompose non living organic matter. Our homes are filled with food for mold:

  • Drywall Paper
  • Wood Studs
  • Wooden Baseboards
  • Some Carpets
  • Wool Clothes

So why isn't mold growing all the time?

Mold will only grow if it has enough moisture or water. This closet has mold only because it was wet after a toilet overflow. The water began soaking up the drywall and the mold began to grow.
