Mold Removal

SERVPRO of Alamo Ranch has previously discussed the actual containment with physical barriers and the use of air filtration devices to create a negative pressure environment before performing mold remediation.

Remediation means removal, so our next step in mold remediation is to remove mold impacted materials. These types of materials include trim, baseboards, carpeting, carpet pad, tack strip, underlayment, drywall, insulation, and any other materials that may be impacted. These materials to be removed are specified on the Mold Remediation Protocol. Sometimes when materials are removed, we encounter more mold growth and proceed to remove that material also.

Once we have removed the non structural material, we will focus on materials such as framing, subflooring, roof decking, etc. These areas will be inspected for structural integrity and if that integrity has not been compromised, we will continue to the cleaning stage.
